Membership

CANNRA includes members and associate members from more than 45 states and U.S. territories, Canada, and the Netherlands.

Membership is limited to relevant government agencies and offices. Associate memberships are available for government jurisdictions not currently regulating cannabis, cannabinoids, or hemp, or for governmental agencies that are not the primary cannabis or hemp regulator in the state or territory, but are involved in or seeking education and insight about cannabis regulation. International, non-voting memberships are available for international governments involved in cannabis and/or cannabinoid regulation. Membership is not available to individuals or to any non-governmental organizations. 

CANNRA Membership benefits include:

  • Access to a listserv of member regulators and a platform to facilitate real-time government-to-government technical assistance;

  • Access to institutional knowledge and expertise related to regulatory approaches for hemp-derived products, medical cannabis, and adult use cannabis;

  • Opportunities to participate in CANNRA Special Committees spanning a range of topics relevant to cannabis regulation;

  • Opportunities to attend webinars and other trainings and programming featuring subject matter experts;

  • Access to cannabis policy tracking and analysis from member jurisdictions;

  • Resources for cannabis policy development and staff training, and the ability to access and participate in best practice discussions across a range of areas, including but not limited to: packaging, labeling, advertising, testing, licensing, social and economic equity, compliance & enforcement, product approval, tax structures & collection, banking, patient qualification & enrollment, product manufacturing, and cannabinoid hemp products;

  • Access to exchanges and forums between CANNRA members and third party stakeholders such as US and international regulatory agencies and elected officials, advocacy groups, academic institutions, research organizations, cannabis and hemp industry associations, and more.
